Default Skills Question

Example: The skill Agony for a Ritualist is this. Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...10...12 spirit (30...78...90 second lifespan). Causes 3...9...10 Health loss each second to foes in earshot. This spirit loses 3...9...10 Health for each foe that loses Health.

My question is what are the numbers 1...10..12 30....78...90 etc..
So what level spirit is being cast? What determines that? And really its not just this skill all the skills for all professions list the details this way.

Any info would be great as i am very new to GW. And I really like it too

They describe how various properties of the skill change with an increasing attribute level. You should notice that by increasing the level of an attribute a skill is in will increase the power of that skill (so the Agony spirit will spawn at a higher level and do more damage).

So for example; at 0 Channeling Magic, Agony is level 1 and does 3 damage per second to enemies whilst losing 3 health for each enemy damaged.
At 12 Channeling it is level 10 and causes 9 damage per second.
At 15 Channeling it is level 12 and causes 10 damage per second.

Note that the progression in skill descriptions follows a set pattern; the first number corresponds to having 0 in that attribute, the second to having 12 and the third to having 15.

Also note that the change in numbers is approximately linear with respect to increasing attribute level.

A curios thing about agony is that it also damages the wildlife so any neutral creatures take damage and even die without becoming hostile.

Its annoying since its also damaging the spirit of agony to no good effect.

If you look a skill up on a wiki there is usually a table showing the skill values for attribute levels up to 16 (and beyond), which is very helpful for determining what attribute level you want/need.
Although the progression is generally linear, the numbers are always whole numbers - no fractions - so it's helpful to know at what attribute level a value jumps from one number to the next.
